Why can’t I access the Dashboards feature?
Full access to Dashboards is available on the Pro plan.
Teams plan users can view and export dashboards shared with them, but can’t create or edit.
Free and Plus plans don’t include access to Dashboards.
Check your plan in your account settings or head to our Plans article to learn more.
How will I know if I’m in edit mode?
You’ll see a banner at the top of your dashboard that reads:
“You’re in Edit mode. All changes will be saved and visible to the people you’ve invited.”
Once you’ve made the required changes, click ‘finish editing” to save those changes
Why can’t I make any changes to my dashboard?
Only Pro users can create and edit dashboards. If you’re on a Pro plan and still can’t edit:
The dashboard might be a GWI template. Click ‘Save as new’ to make your own copy and edit.
If it’s a shared dashboard, only the original owner can make changes. You can either duplicate it or align with the owner to update it directly.
Can I use templates for dashboards?
Yes! Search by keyword (e.g., “Social Media”) or explore templates in the ‘GWI’ tab within the Dashboards management page. You can then customise them to fit your needs.
How do I change chart types?
First, click ‘edit’ to begin customizing one of your own dashboards.
If you're working from a template, click ‘Save as new’ to create an editable version.
Once you’re in edit mode, click on the chart type icon, which will often appear as the name of the current chart type. Use the drop-down to select the chart-type you’d prefer to apply.
How does selecting multiple waves or countries affect the data?
When you select more than one wave or country, the data shown is an average across all selected waves or markets.
How do I export a dashboard?
Click the Export icon in the top-right corner of your dashboard. Choose PNG for a visual version, or XLSX for raw data.
Why are some chart types greyed out?
Certain chart types, such as Line charts and Radial charts, are only available when using a custom chart with a single data point.
To access these, head to the Charts feature, create your own chart using just one data point, and then add it to your dashboard. This will unlock those additional chart types.
Can I view averages in dashboards?
Yes, you can now view averages for numerical data points (like age, time spent on media, or household income) using average stat cards.
These can be added either by applying an “average” question when searching in the chart browser, or by switching a chart’s metric option to “Calculate average” for selected charts.
Please note that if you’re on a Teams plan and have view-only access to dashboards, these stat cards won’t be visible to you just yet.
Note: The average is shown as decimal hours which means if you would like to follow the same format as in e.g. crosstabs you have to convert the decimal hours to minutes.
Example: If you see 1.26 hours as the average in Dashboards, then to get the format as x hrs x mins you'd need to multiply 0.26 x 60 which will give you 15.6 mins. Then you could say the average is 1 hr 15 mins, otherwise you would refer to it as 1.26 hrs.
